Tumkur in Karnataka witnessed a massive rally on 12th March 2009. There were people from all over India. There were people from ten different political parties. There were people with different thoughts, different policies and different working styles. But their objective was the same. They wanted to defeat both BJP as well as congress, and that is the reason why they have gathered together forgetting all the rivalries.

There were leaders from JD-S, CPI(M), CPI, RSP, Forward Block, TDP, AIADMK, TRS, BSP and Haryana Janhit Congress. Even though they are claiming the support of Biju Janatadal from Orissa, they hadn’t participated in the rally.

CPI-M general secretary Prakash Karat described the union as historic while addressing the meeting first. According to the leaders of all these parties the Third front can register a historic win over BJP and Congress in the upcoming election.
